Project 1: Agricultural Innovations for Communities for Intensified and Sustainable Farming Systems in Timor Leste (Al-Com)

Duration: 2017-2021

​

Aim: To improve agricultural productivity and profitability in plot communities by addressing technical and social impediments to annual crop intensification and establishing fodder tree legumes and sandalwood as a sustainable income source and land management practice

​

Partners: University of Westerns Australia, University of Sunshine Coast, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Timor-Leste, National University of Timor Lorosae, and World Vision.

Project 2: Conservation Cropping in the Dryland of Northern Iraq 

 

Aim: To increase crop productivity, profitability and sustainability in northern Iraq through development, evaluation and promotion of conservation cropping technologies involving zero-tillage, stubble mulching, improved crop varieties and better crop management.


Duration: 2011-2014

 

Partners: Ministry of Agriculture and University of Mosul (Iraq), International Centre for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), The University of Western Australia and University of Adelaide. The project is funded by the Australian Government through
